    My comments from tonight’s meeting

Mr Edgar, the first time you discussed me from the dais you claimed I didn’t volunteer and so I should sit down and shut up. The following week I showed up here to tell you to not attack citizens from the dais or tell lies about me. Two weeks ago you stated that I was in a conspiracy with Mr. Sheridan and others in the audience while I spoke. Another attack on me, and another lie. I had nothing to do with Mr. Sheridan or the other gentlemen’s activities and I am willing to take a polygraph test to validate that. Maybe you could come and validate that you didn’t know that the trash bid was rigged at the same time.

Two weeks ago I presented evidence of something so heinous that after you failed in your personal attack of Mr.Parkers landlord two years ago, you made this a major issue and demanded that Mr. Parker do something about it. I was nice and didn’t speak the company’s name, just providing you with photographic evidence of this heinous act. And you did nothing. So, today I ask why you are protecting CA Web Design? Is it because they were the people that designed the CPLA website used to attack Driscoll and Parker? Double standard much Mr. Edgar?

You also didn’t seem to understand the intent of the Edgar-Poe original reading I did. Maybe the simple storyline was too complex for you to understand. The trash bid was rigged. The time line and the obvious farce in the weighting tell the tale. Really, do you think it was legitimate to use the parent company that has no fiduciary responsibility to set the high point value for the LLC? The numbers were buffed. The bid was rigged.

Oh and a clarification. Mr. Sheridan and his associates were holding up signs. Now from where you sit, maybe you can’t tell the difference between a sign and a hand puppet, or maybe you don’t know the difference between a sign and a hand puppet. But one is protected free speech and the other is a hand puppet. And my guess is that signs were used since Madam Poe has shut down all ability for us to register our displeasure at your actions in any other way.

That brings me to the vote on Mr. Sheridan last meeting. Mr. Edgar, if you had seconded Mrs. Mejia’s motion, then you could say you seconded Mr. Zarkos’ because you believe that all the motions on the issue deserve a vote. But you didn’t. You did second Mr. Zarkos’ motion, and then you voted against it. My guess is some political consultant most likely told you that voting off a second volunteer commission chairman for using his right of free speech wasn’t going to benefit you in the upcoming election. You really should have considered that before you seconded a motion you had no intent of voting for.

Which brings me to the voice we can’t trust. Madam Poe. I’m sure in your foggy recollection of two weeks past you can remember saying that you would vote with the majority. Well, if Zarkos and Stephens voted yes, and Mejia and Edgar voted no, then we should be able to trust that you wouldn’t vote because 2 and 2 means that there is no majority. Unless of course you meant to say that your vote would be the majority. Yes, your vote was the deciding vote to remove a volunteer commission chair for using his first amendment right to disagree with the city councils actions. Something you must be proud of and can’t wait to share with your grandchildren.

You also seemed confused last week as to what I stated. I stated that the placement of your sign across from the post office on a building owned by Mr. Briggeman was a quid-pro-quo that didn’t have to be reported. Not the cost of the huge banner sign. Much like CDS doing Sunday pickups for non-profits you’re involved with is a non-reportable quid-pro-quo. Doing special favors is non-reportable and creates an arms length deniability when you return the favors back.

Mr. Zarkos, I don’t know where to start with you. Your incoherent rambling was entertaining, but the four people that I know who watched it all stated that you didn’t make a lick of sense. Much the same reaction that was received from those in the chamber. On the positive side, rumor has it that you pulled your papers, and I know that I appreciated you giving the public a full opportunity to see you ramble.

One last note. We know that power corrupts, and we saw that from this council during the trash contract. But it’s more than that. There is a word for people that use positions of power to attack others. Whether it be in school playgrounds or from a city council dais. There is a word to describe people who hold others in contempt and attack them when they speak out about abuse of power. That single word describes you and your actions. You people are bullies.
