(6/18/09, Los Alamitos, by Dave Emerson) I’ve finally figured out that I don’t have nearly enough time to report on even a third of all that’s going on in Los Alamitos, let alone our neighboring towns.
Even if I had the time, you deserve to hear more than just one local reporter’s viewpoint.
(Don’t look so shocked that I figured that out. As Coach Joe Koteras used to say when a weak play connected for a hit in St. Hedwig’s Ponly League,
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.
So, to present more events and more balance, we desperately need more of you to contribute posts here, not just in the form of comments.
It’s easy for me to set you up with your own access to publish whenever you want.
You’ve got plenty of choices:
- Opinion pieces.
- News from your neighborhood
- Reports on a topic of interest
- Regular coverage of each City Commission
- Reports on local restaurants, businesses, plays, parks
- News from your school (youth & adult contributors are welcome!)
- Reports on your team, church, club or organization.
- Whatever you think might interest the people of Los Al, or whatever you think they need to know about.
- News of neighboring communities, especially Rossmoor, Seal Beach, Cypress, and Long Beach.
- Helping out as an editor, or a resource to writers new to blogging or WordPress.
I’d love to have a group of people contributing on a regular basis, whether it be weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly or just on occasion.
No initial commitment required. Try it–see if you like it.
I’d really like to involve a broader section of our community in writing both posts and comments. You can help us make this little blog a better source of local info for all.
