(11/6/2013, Los Alamitos/West OC) Lots of interesting items in this morning’s News Enterprise, including John Underwood’s outstanding documentary on ProLogis’ failed 33 acre project winning fist place for Community Media Awards (keep looking. . . it’s on page 14!), news of the Griffin’s Homecoming victory last week.
That win over Huntington Beach sets them up for at least a share of the Sunset League title, as long as they beat Fountain Valley this Friday at Vet’s Stadium in Long Beach. A game worth attending!
But what caught my eye was a paid obituary for a 60 year Los Al resident I don’t believe I ever met, Mildred Floye Chaney.
Born in Hot Springs Arkansas in October of 1935, Mildred moved to Los Alamitos in the 1950s. She worked for 35 years as a metal fabricator for Arrowhead Products right here in Los Al, where “she was especially proud of the Read the rest of this entry →
