Your February, 2012 Community Bulletin Board

(Los Alamitos, 1/31/2012)February starts tomorrow, & once again we’ll be moving our Community Bulletin Board forward near the start of each week, usually Monday or Tuesday, keeping comments that are still relevant.
So, if you’re aware of an event of local interest coming up this month, put it in a comment below & we’ll leave it up until the event passes.
For starter’s, here are the month’s Los Alamitos City Council & Commission Meetings, along with the days City Hall’s closed & one major city event:

- Monday, February 6, 7:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, February 21, 5:00 p.m. Special Mid Year Budget Review
- Tuesday, February 21, 7:00 p.m (moved back, Monday 2/20 is Presidents’ Day observance, making a 4 day weekend for city staff)

With the days getting longer, and Daylight Savings returning March 11, this is probably your last month to avoid the daylight loving crowds (above).

(12/25/2011, Los Alamitos) We hope your family’s holiday celebrations have been filled with love, joy, and peace so far. With one week left in 2011, this is the place for your announcements of community events ending 2011 or kicking off 2012, at least until the end of next weekend.
Here’s a few items of interest:
- Los Alamitos City Hall will only be closed the next two Mondays, tomorrow, 12/26/2011 and Monday 1/2/2012.
- Once again, there will be street sweeping this Friday, 12/30/2011, but parking citations will not be issued.

- Tonight’s Los Alamitos City Council Meeting, annual re-organizational meeting where next year’s Mayor and pro tem are selected will be a great test of whether Mayor pro tem Edgar’s actions line up with his recent words about “healing” our divided community. It’s the last regular meeting until mid January since the January 3 meeting has been cancelled.
