(7/1/2013, Los Alamitos/Cypress) The stunning defeat of Cypress Measure A by a more than 2 to 1 margin is behind us, but the battle over ProLogis’ infamous 33 acre project still looms.
However, the exact date of the next step has been muddled by ProLogis’ open-ended “revising” of their project and the resultant placing of the EIR on “hold.”
I expect ProLogis will come back with the same 750,000 square feet of buildings but with major cuts in the number of truck bays and a promise to steer the trucks away from the original “rapid throughput logistics facility,” at least initially.
In any case, the delay may provide additional opportunities for citizens from throughout West Orange County to continue expressing their concerns to Cypress City Council during the two meetings currently scheduled for July (see below).
Meanwhile, if you’re a Los Al resident, you can still get curbside household hazardous waste pickup this Wednesday if you call Consolidated Disposal at 562 347-4000 on Monday or Tuesday,7/1 or 7/2. You’re paying extra for it, why not take advantage of it & clear out those old paint cans, batteries, florescent bulbs insecticides & electronics!
Here’s what we’ve culled from the calendars so far. If you’ve got something to add, just put it up in a comment. So far I’m only aware of one neighborhood 4th of July parade (see below), but we’ve got the details on the 4 pm – 9:30 celebration at the Base in the graphic above.
