(Cypress, 9/9/2013) Sounds like the “juciest” parts of tonight’s Cypress City Council Meeting came after it was over!
Turns out PBS SoCal’s six-time Golden Mike winning reporter David Nazar has been doing some research on what’s going on in Cypress. In particular relating to last year’s Measure L which tricked voters into opening the door for ProLogis “33 acre project,” and track owner Christo Bardis’ PAC support for at least two Cypress Council Members.
Here’s what one eyewitness told me about what happened tonight:
At the end of the City Council meeting, reporter Nazar approached Bailey for an interview …..
Bailey was moving fast to get out of the chambers ….. both go down the stairs outside the chambers, Reporter Nazar barely starts asking a question and Doug Bailey takes off and runs away!!!
The moment PBS’ Golden Mike winning reporter Nazar mentioned the word “PAC” (Bardis campaign contributions), Doug Bailey literally ran off and into the night.
It happened so quickly that the tv news cameraman barely had a chance to turn on the camera – he got some of it though and the story will air one week from this Thursday, on Nadir’s SoCal Insider series on SoCal PBS.
So guess who was willing to speak with the press tonight. . . .
At that point, David Nazar then sat down and interviewed Dave Rose, Chairman of Cypress CItizens Preserving Open Space. I’m told that Rose gave a great interview.
As one reader e-mailed me, hopefully the PBS show will help ” explain the importance of Open Space/Recreational Space, the importance of transparency in local government, and the importance of repealing Measure L and stopping the ProLogis project.”
A hopeful end to a night where the City Attorney also took a position against Mr. Bailey (see the first comment under our “Agenda & your reporting” post on tonight’s Cypress Council Meeting).
As always, your comments, diplomatically stated, are encouraged.
