(Cypress, 8/26/2013) As promised, but a little on the late side, this is your opportunity to report on today’s Cypress City Council meetings:
- The 5:30 pm Council Workshop on possibly selecting a trash consultant (see “Staff proposes hidden tax increases in trash bills at Monday workshop”) (followed by a closed session on litigation and a labor issue).
- The 7 pm Regular Council Meeting, which included a consent item to pave the way for yet another election asking the voters to overturn Measure D’s protection of open space and government use for two school district parcels (see “Full speed ahead on developing 2 more Measure D parcels?)
As after most Cypress & Los Alamitos City Council meetings, this is a post for people who attended the meetings or watched them on cable to report on what they saw that the thought was significant, and what they thought about it. And for the rest of us to learn.
And it’s an opportunity for the community as a whole to discuss the issues and reports online in real time.
That’s because :
few comments posted here go to “moderation,” almost all post instantly. (Having more than two links in your comment or using a handful of highly offensive words are about all that trigger automatic holding for moderation. So if you keep to our “family friendly & diplomatic language” request, and limit hyperlinks to two per comment, your should post instantly,in real time.
2. We do not limit the length of your comments.
That’s because this is a community website where the goal is to promote open sharing of information & open reporting, and respectful discussion of issues.
In other words, this is our community’s website--it belongs to all of us in the Western portion of Orange County (Pretty much from Knott west). That is, it’s your website!
So, please, share what you saw, share links to other reports, & share your perspective.
