(Los Alamitos, 7/31/2013) The big Los Alamitos news today was this coming Monday’s night’s “Town Hall” Meeting where, as N-E Editor Ted Apodaca put it, you can influence “what the city will look like over the next couple of decades,” and beyond!
Please note the date is this coming Monday, 8/5, 7 – 9 at City Hall, not 8/12 as I had mistakenly reported earlier in a letter printed in the N-E last week.
A different approach:
I learned today from Community Development Director Steven Mendoza of an interesting approach planned for Monday’s meeting:
The meeting will be a Town Hall format which will provide attendees with visual information spread around the room in large format.
They will view that information for approximately 20 minutes to gain insight to the topic at hand.
There will [then] be a 20 minute Power Point presentation led my myself and Mr. Colin Drukker and then an opportunity for the public to provide comment via written and verbal means.
During that segment, Colin and I will be available for questions.
According to City Clerk Wendy Quintanar, the meeting will be agendized as a Special City Council meeting, with a more casual format to allow for the “Town Hall” atmosphere.
The meeting will be televised on LosAlTV3, but this is one time it’s worth the short drive to be there in person!
With a number of major changes proposed (see today’s post, “Big changes in Los Alamitos land use on table this Monday” for more details.)
