February 19, 2013 in City Council Meetings, Your reporting and comments By: Dave Emerson
(2/19/2013, Los Alamitos) Tonight’s monthly Los Alamitos City Council Regular Meeting starts at 6:00, but how long will it go?
Will our Council Members sincerely respond to concerns expressed by citizens? Will the Council seek the best decisions for Los Alamitos? How crazy will it get? How positive?
Inquiring minds want to know. . . . If you know what went on at City Hall tonight, please let the rest of us know.
If you come across a good post elsewhere, please share the link.
If you want to know. . . read on, post your question, check back later.

It’s your turn now. Tell us what you saw, whether in person or on TV, & what you thought. Please try to express your thoughts diplomatically.
Well, first thing at tonight’s meeting was Oral communication. There was an update on the Sugar beat Festival, and the Relay for Life.
Also, JM Ivlar announced an interesting new venture that has been worked on for the last two years. It seems to be an alternative to the local Chamber of Commerce. In fact, he called it the Changer of Commerce. He gave a very short , but good explanation of how it will work, but I don’t think Council member Edgar was really listening as he had a few questions after JM was done speaking.
So JM then explained, again which brought less questions from Edgar and more comments. He did not seem pleased at all. I would like to think that any organization which is put in place to help the business’s in town would be supported by someone who owns a business, even if it is in Cypress.
Since the current C of C is more like a social group or very expensive club, I think the new alternative would be good for the business’s in town who are looking to energize their business without spending a lot of money to join a social group.
Hopefully in the next few days JM, who posts on this blog will explain the whole thing or put the web site up for all to see.
