Who said it? And is it crossing the line?

In response to the following on Facebook about the weekend’s gun show:
Hearing reports from friends that the line to get into the gun show over at the fairgrounds is ridiculously long.
The following was posted:
Uniting America against Obama’s regieme [sic] one AK47 at a time!
That was said by someone we all know. No there is no poll, just add your guesses in the comments below, and read on for the correct answer:
An educated guess, our former mayor who resigned in disgrace / current council member?
.. and yes, it is crossing the line.
we have a winner.

Mr. Ivler – Thank you for the link. I read the article, followed the link to the facebook post and could not find Dean Grose’s comment. Wonder what happened to it?
When you make a “reply” to a post on facebook you can always go back and “edit” or “delete” your reply. My guess is that Mr. Grose did just that (deleted his reply).
Since this was reported by another source I didn’t feel a need to screen capture the original post. The original article still contains the “cut and paste” of the facebook posting, and I’m sure that they screencaptured the original post as well (you may ask them to repost the screen cap on their article since it looks like it the reply stream has been modified).
It should be noted that I have provided no additional context to the original report. I have made no personal comments as to the correctness or not and have offered no opinions on the article or Mr. Grose’s actions. The original post was made because I was actually shocked by the original article and thought it was worthy of making people who read this blog aware of it (how many people in LosAl are reading a blog called liberaloc? I even have it in the footer here, but my guess is that it doesn’t get much traffic from here.).
Grose can not help himself. He just can not help it. You can’t fix stupid.
He said he was sorry for sending out racist emails. He said he has changed and atoned for being insensitive. He said the voters should give him another chance. We gave it to him (actually not all of us, I did not vote for him). Within days of being sworn in, he imploded and his second chance has gone up in smoke. Once again Los Al is being laughed at in the press. I hope my fellow citizens and the city council do the right thing and take quick corrective action.
Whoa, let’s not pull out the tar and feathers and look for the rail.
Mr. Grose is clearly, and has been since it started, a very strong supporter of the right-wing side of the GOP that has branded themselves the “tea party”. He has attended events as far away as Pasadena (maybe even further, I only know about that distant one) in support of those far right wing principles (and the group).
As a citizen he has every right to participate in any way with said groups, and I can’t knock his desire to be politically active for while I may not agree with him politically, I believe that being politically active is important.
The fact that this far right wing rebrand of the GOP has strong opinions is not even an issue (no matter how much I disagree with them). The fact that Mr. Grose may share those opinions is not an issue.
I have no idea where 4/5 of my City Council stands regarding most national political issues, and that is a good thing. I truly wish it was the whole of the City Council, but it is not.
As an elected official Mr. Grose should be aware that when he speaks out he now represents the City of Los Alamitos, not just himself. He should be acutely aware of that since his last foray into the public eye.
What I, or anyone else posting here, says is our opinions as we only represent ourselves. We can flame and spout as much as we want, and it doesn’t truly reflect on our neighbors or community as we don’t hold elected office. That is not true with the five we elect to represent us.
The last time Mr. Grose, as a private citizen, sent an e-mail to another private citizen. But since he was also an elected representative his actions reflected on the city. If I have any concern here it is reflected in the fact that it appears that Mr. Grose still has not learned that as an elected representative he speaks with a voice that reflects on us all.
The comment was a small item in my mind. It’s not like we don’t know where the Tea Party and most of it’s self-declared membership stands on President Obama. The only thing that concerns me is that the lesson has not sunk in that when he does these things he is not just “Dean Grose,” but also “Council Member Grose.” Now that he has been elected to public office, his actiions reflect on the community.
If he has in fact deleted his comment, that was a good start. But the lesson shouldn’t be “delete the comment,” it should be “don’t post it!”
If I have any concern at all, it’s that that lesson has not been learned yet. I’m not sure how we, or the Council “take corrective action” on that, but I don’t think that the answer is tar and feathers or riding Mr. Grose out on a rail.
This guy is an absolute disgrace to our city. First he sends out a racist email & when caught he claims to the AP that “He was unaware of the racial stereotype that black people like watermelon” . . . .Really?? . . . .Now he jokes about an armed revolt against our govt . . . The whole democratic process is lost on this guy. I agree with the comment above – You just can’t fix stupid.
