Your reporting on tonight’s 6 pm Council Meeting

(Los Alamitos, 11/19/2012) The agenda’s up all 3 parts of it (click here to start), and it looks like some interesting items on our “Lame Duck” Council’s last Regular meeting, including 2 Public Hearings:
- Consideration of a 17 unit Condo Development including a Mitigated Negative Declaration, General Plan Amendment, and Zoning Ordinance Amendment.
- A proposed Zoning Ordi9nance Amendment adding “call for Review” procedures permitting Council review of P.C. decisions without filing a formal appeal, supported by the P.C. during it’s October meeting.

[From a local resident:] The City Attorney gave notice that she would be gone by 1/31/13, my best guess is the firm will be replaced way before then. Even tho she couldn’t add up the amount for the trash contract she CAN count to three.
The condo project passed 5-0
Vector Control did a really good presentation about what they do, and to educate the public on what they should do to keep their property safe from the usual suspects. Like no standing water or puddles or stagnant pools to avoid mosquito breeding, & no pet food out to avoid coyotes.
The absolute best thing was when Judy “Klaabigmouth” got up to thank Gerri and Warren for the great job they did in the state election because now Edgar will be here for two more years and he is a such a big supporter of the local businesses.
Edgar was not really saying much about his loss so I’m sure he wanted to crawl under the table when she said that. With friends like her he doesn’t need any enemies. Ha! It has been so obvious for the past year, he does not want to be here.
The Planning Commission appeal surprisingly was supported by Edgar and Stephens. I was surprised because Gerri really wanted it to stay as one council member could bring an appeal. Poe was the only one who wanted it to be at least two. In the past Edgar used it against Parker so he understands what it is like to be in the minority.
Edgar looked pretty whipped. He has not gotten his 2nd wind yet.
Stephens and Poe seemed pretty happy to be out of there. Edgar made a really weird comment about how Stephens hard run a great campaign and worked hard talking to people. Obviously he was not paying attention in Los Al because Stephens didn’t do anything. Even his supporters were saying he didn’t seem to want it.
The meeting went by quicky. If it wasn’t for the presentations and the condo project it would have been over in an hour.
