Your Summer 2012 Los Alamitos Community Bulletin Board
June 28, 2012 in Uncategorized By: Dave Emerson
(6/27/2012, Los Alamitos) Summer’s here and there’s lots going on around Los Alamitos. Whatever it is, if you’d like others to know about it and it’s legal and relatively family friendly, this is the place to announce it to the world!
If you’ve got events or news to share, this is the place, our weekly community bulletin board, where anyone can post anything of interest from community events to block sales to news of coyote attacks or crime alerts.
If it’s in or near Los Alamitos or Rossmoor, put it in a comment on this post from now through next Sunday.
This weekly post is your easiest way to get the word out instantly, for free, whenever the idea hits you, without leaving your home (or even your car if you have a smart phone or tablet). [ad]
The new “title” feature lets our readers spot recent postings of interest in the “Comments” section of the right column and go directly to the comment with one click.
If it’s mid-month and you want an easy way to find this post to put up your announcement, just click the drop down menu under “Categories” near the top of the right hand column, then click “Community Bulletin Board and the first parts of the most recent ones will appear in the main column.
Just got an e-mail from OCTD regarding closures tonight through Saturday:
From the 22 (Valley View) to Seal Beach/Los Al Blvd. the northbound 405 will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. tonight, 7/5 through Saturday night (AKA Sunday morning).
The northbound 405 from Seal Beach Blvd. to the 605 will join the closure on midnight Saturday night to 5 a.m. Sunday.
If you forget, however, I’m sure it will be amply signed.
RPMT was contacted by two dog rescuers who found a Female Mix Chihuahua with colors white and black.
She looks very much like an RCA or Spanky dog.
We believe this is a 4th of July victim who ran away from home. She is a very sweet little girl who was found running down Seal Beach Blvd to Los Alamitos then dashed into Rossmoor Highlands.
She put up quite a chase and was very scared. She is a young female who is very used to being inside one’s home.
If you know the owner, please contact RPMT at 562.253.2330 or REBTRAVIS “at” AOL.COM.
The eastbound SR-22 to northbound I-405 / northbound I-605 connector will be closed from 11 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Saturday, July 7. Crews will be restriping the connector down to one lane and this configuration will remain over the next year as crews begin work to construct the new I-405 / I-605 carpool connector.
In addition, in late-July the eastbound SR-22 to northbound I-405 connector will
close for approximately 12 months. This connector must be reconstructed in order to accommodate the 405 / 605 carpool connector. More information will be provided once the start date of this long-term connector closure is available.
For more information please call the OCTA Construction Helpline at 1-(800) 724-0353 or email wccproject@octa.net.
