(Los Alamitos, 4/16/2012) Although we’re not expecting Santa Cruz’s Robert Morse (photo) to show up at tonight’s 7 pm Council meeting, you can bet something interesting will happen tonight.
Will it be another “Love Fest?”
Hopefully, at least one of our readers will take advantage of this post to tell us about it!
So set your DVR for LosAl TV 3 from 7 – 10 or so, and/or show up in person, & let us know
what you see, hear, & think!

FYI: City Council meetings are rebroadcast the next morning at 7, and the following night at 7. They are also rebroadcast on Friday and Saturday mornings at 7, and Monday morning at 7.
As always, please try to be diplomatic, use relatively family friendly language, and please briefly describe what you are commenting on before making your comment. Not everyone will have seen it.
The meeting was pretty short, about two hours, and uneventful.
The presentation by Community Development Dirctor Steven Mendoza and representatives from each of our three commissions was interesting. Two problems:
1. The ideas are the same as the ideas I heard when we had a similar meeting run by our then City Manager Henry Taboada almost 14 years ago. (One new thing was the overpass for students on Katella.) Everything mentioned was mentioned way back when and it was incorporated into the GP update and nothing was ever done.
2. Who will pay for it was a problem, and still is. Plus the old cronies wanted to only do what they thought of. Back then Marilyn Poe wanted redevelopment. Thank goodness we didn’t get hoodwinked into that one.
They’re all lovely ideas, but getting them implemented is the problem.
I would think when I check back in another 15 years it will be the same Except for the medical center. The Council majority council made sure Tenet would get what they wanted. ..and we would get more traffic.

Since we have the same expensive city attorney as they have in Sierra Madre lets take a look at what is going there. The Sierra Madre Tattler is a local blog in town and it seems that we have some similar problems. Take a read for yourself

The Colantuono & Levin Fog Machine was in full force last night in its starring role as the Great Measure V killer. You know how things like democracy and voting just irk the corporate and governmental elites they support. Once again proving that our tax money is being used against our interests, with City Hall and the current City Council in cahoots to enable just that.
City Attorney Whatsisname jumped in to claim that the Planning Commission needs to reconsider the dwelling unit versus suite thing once again. This despite the fact that the PC has already dealt with this phony issue. According to the C&L Department of Legal Obfuscation it is this matter that determines whether or not ALF is subject to Measure V or not. Which is disingenuous nonsense. They, along with those they actually work for, just don’t want people getting a Measure V vote on a development project.
