(10/31/2009, by Dave Emerson)  You can protest, but it won’t do any good.

So it’s probably best to just get with the program and set your clock back an hour before you go to bed tonight.

If I get the post up as planned,  you can use some of that extra hour to review Read more

(Los Alamitos, 10/28/2009)   (Intro by Dave Emerson:)   There’s been plenty of noise and discussion lately about the Los Alamitos Medical Center’s future development plans. The LAMC apparently decided to be proactive and invited three of the “squeaky wheels” to their facility for a discussion this past Monday, 10/26/2009.

Those attendees have issued a very interesting report on that meeting.  I was amazed to learn Read more

(10 p.m., 11/21/09, by Dave Emerson)  Taking a brief break from Los Al news & politics, I made a discovery this evening I thought worth sharing with local sports fans.

Apparently Tuesday night’s blowout loss by the Angels (and possibly the ensuing melee of gloating Yankees fans) has resulted in a fairly large number of Angels season seat holders dumping their seats for Thursday’s game on Read more

(10/18/2009, Los Alamitos)  After reviewing this Monday’s Los Alamitos City Council agenda I’m still a bit mystified why a special Council meeting was needed Saturday afternoon.  Maybe somebody wanted to catch the end of the Dodger game?

(Los Alamitos, 10/5/2009)  Information culled from public records over the weekend will hopefully give the Los Alamitos City Council good reason to hold off on entering an agreement tonight with the Los Alamitos Medical Center regarding their 25 year expansion plan.

Indeed, it’s not even clear at this point exactly whom that agreement should be with, but it’s evident that there are at least two additional legal entities involved: Read more

(10/2/2009, Los Alamitos)  Now we know why they asked for that Enviornmental Impact Report our City Council will vote on Monday night.

They want to build two new medical towers allowing up to 602 beds, an 80,000 square foot medical office building, new  parking structures, and a new central plant on the 18 acres they now own in our fair town.

The plan is to be implemented over the next Read more

(10/2/2009, Los Alamitos)  Los Alamitos’ varsity football team passed their first major test Thursday night with a solid victory over La Habra in a game in which Los Al never trailed.   Another big test looms ahead this coming Thursday, October 8.

While the Griffin’s defense was not able to achieve their forth consecutive shut-out, they were able to hold La Habra’s up and coming program to less than a third Read more
